#31 RAWSHAWNA Tip!

Be grateful!

Yesterday a fellow raw food enthusiast friend told me that he has been doing other than super awesome with his rawness.  As a result, he has had 5 colds/flues this season!  He even said that he felt like he might die a couple times during the illness.  I remember that feeling of being sick from a cold or a flu and feeling so bad and sad that I might just die.  That was scary!  I have not experienced a cold or flu for over 2 years since I have been consistent with healthy raw food eating and have gotten past the initial detox phase.  According to Gabriel Cousens, M.D., you may be more weak for the first 1 & 1/2 years raw, so persevere!

I am very grateful for the health I have recieved from raw food eating.  So, be grateful for knowing about raw and persevere, it gets better!

#30 RAWSHAWNA Tip!

Hemp dressing on spinach with tomatos:

Put 2/3 cup hemp butter or seeds in blender with 1 stalk celery and water to the consistency that you enjoy.  Add 1 slice onion, 1 clove garlic or garlic granules, juice of 1 lemon or a dash of apple cider vinegar,  1 Tbl nama shoyu or miso.  Blend.  Add 1/2 bunch of fresh parsley and give the blender a short whirl to fine chop the parsley.  Pour on spinch and tomato.  This time of year we get tasty little hot house grape tomatos.

Extra tip: Be sure to take your MSM (sulfur supplement) because only foods that are involved in the rain cycle have ample sulfur.  Most foods are grown in hot houses or with irrigation.

Sincerely, Shawna

#29 RAWSHAWNA Tip!

"If you do not eat mindfully, you are eating the flesh of your son and dauthter, you are eating the flesh of your parent.

Every day 40,000 children in the world die for lack of food.  We who overeat in the West, we feed grain to animals to make meat, are eating the flesh of these children."

-Tich Nhat Hanh, 2001 speech in New York
